Aigaleo-Aris, and AEK-PAOK in cup semifinals
Posted: March 20, 2003 at 12:02 PM EST (17:02 PM GMT)

The Greek Cup draw brings Aigaleo facing Aris and AEK facing PAOK for the first leg in the semifinals. Leg 2 games will take place in Thessaloniki. The Greek Cup final will take place in Patra if Aigaleo and AEK both advance -- otherwise the game will be played in Toumpa, Thessaloniki.

AEK and PAOK will play for the second consecutive year against each other in the Cup tournament -- last year AEK advanced over PAOK in the quarterfinals (AEK-PAOK 2-1, Jan. 30, 2002; PAOK -AEK 0-4, Feb. 6, 2002).

Aigaleo and Aris square off for the first time in their history in a Greek Cup game. Aigaleo has never before advanced to the Cup final, while Aris reached the final in 1970, where he did win the cup on a game against PAOK. There has not been a cup final game ever since with both teams from Thessaloniki.
